Playoffs 2012- Round 2

This years winner of the Stanley Cup may come in the form of a team that relies on two things that are not on a stat sheet.  While we have seens some of the most talented teams in hockey come and go, we have also seen the determination of underdogs prove great.  There are two teams that fit a paticular bill, they are the Philadephia Flyers and Washington Captials.  Both teams have two things in common that I beleive will propel them to the next round.
1.) Resliency: The Flyers showed eary in the Pittsburgh series they were ready to play, no matter the defecit.  In almost every game the Flyers were done on the scoreboard after period one but managed to tie the score in all the games.  Same goes for the Capitals who were able to answer the call, literally goal for goal with the defending Stanley Cup Champions.
2.) Mental toughness: The Flyers proved this by taking less penalties in their series against the Penguins.  They waited for the mistakes to come to them, rather then be the initiatory.  The Capitals mental toughness came in the form of Braden Holtby, a third string goalie that has carried his team to the the next round.
Don’t be surprised to see there two teams playing in the next round.  What a series that would be pitting two of the best in the game with similar attributes against each other.  In my eyes the Flyers are clearly more talented, but as we saw with Pittsburgh talent means little in the 2012 playoffs.
